Traffic (Compliance and Enforcement) Amendment (Vehicle and Traffic) Regulations 2024

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Traffic Act 1925 .

1.   Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Traffic (Compliance and Enforcement) Amendment (Vehicle and Traffic) Regulations 2024 .

2.   Commencement

These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Regulations

In these regulations, the Traffic (Compliance and Enforcement) Regulations 2017 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.

4.    Regulation 3 amended (Interpretation)

Regulation 3(1) of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting the definitions of VOR and VSR and substituting the following definitions:

VOR means the Vehicle and Traffic (Vehicle Operations) Regulations 2024;

VSR means the Vehicle and Traffic (Vehicle Standards) Regulations 2024 (known as the Vehicle Standards);

5.    Schedule 1 amended (Offences)

Part 2 of Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:

(a) by omitting from the heading to Division 3 "Vehicle and Traffic (Vehicle Operations) Regulations 2014" and substituting "Vehicle and Traffic (Vehicle Operations) Regulations 2024";

(b) by omitting Subdivisions 5 and 6 from Division 3 and substituting the following Subdivisions:
