Threatened Species Protection Order (No. 3) 2000

I, on the recommendation of the Scientific Advisory Committee, make the following order under section 13(5) of the Threatened Species Protection Act 1995 .

1.   Short title

This order may be cited as the Threatened Species Protection Order (No. 3) 2000 .

2.   Commencement

This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Act

In this order, the Threatened Species Protection Act 1995 is referred to as the Principal Act.

4.    Schedule 3 amended (Taxa of Flora and Fauna which are Endangered)

Part 1 of Schedule 3 to the Principal Act is amended as follows:

(a) by inserting after

Diomedea exulansexulans Linnaeus

Wandering Albatross

the following item:

Lathamus discolor Shaw

Swift Parrot

(b) by inserting after

Fish

the following item:

Brachionichthys hirsutus Lacepede 1804

Spotted Handfish

(c) by inserting after

Euphrasia gibbsiae ssp. psilanthera (F. Muell.) W. R. Barker

the following item:

5.    Schedule 4 amended (Taxa of Flora and Fauna which are Vulnerable)

Schedule 4 to the Principal Act is amended as follows:

(a) by omitting the following item:

(b) by omitting

and substituting the following item:

This order amends the Threatened Species Protection Act 1995 by adding certain species to, and omitting certain species from, the Schedules of endangered, vulnerable and rare flora and fauna.
