Misuse of Drugs Order 2006

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following order under section 40(3) of the Misuse of Drugs Act 2001 .

1.   Short title

This order may be cited as the Misuse of Drugs Order 2006 .

2.   Commencement

This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Act

In this order, the Misuse of Drugs Act 2001 is referred to as the Principal Act.

4.    Schedule 1 amended (Controlled substances and trafficable quantities)

Part 2 of Schedule 1 to the Principal Act is amended as follows:
(a) by inserting after item 30 the following:

30A. 

Benzylpiperazine (otherwise known as BZP)

 
(b) by inserting after item 48 the following:

48A. 

1,4-butanediol when intended for human ingestion

 
(c) by inserting after item 50 the following:

50A. 

4-butyrolactone (otherwise known as gamma-butyrolactone (GBL)) when intended for human ingestion

 
(d) by inserting after item 97 the following:

97A. 

2,5-dimethoxy-4-ethylthiophenethylamine (otherwise known as 2C-T-2)

 

97B. 

2,5-dimethoxy-4-iodophenethylamine (otherwise known as 2C-I)

 
(e) by inserting after item 100 the following:

100A. 

2,5-dimethoxy-4-(N)-propylthiophenethylamine (otherwise known as 2C-T-7)

 
(f) by inserting after item 101 the following:

101A. 

N,N-Dimethylamphetamine (Dimetamfetamine)

 
(g) by omitting item 137 and substituting the following:

4-hydroxybutanoic acid (otherwise known as gamma-hydroxybutyrate or GHB), except when specified elsewhere in this Schedule

4-hydroxybutyraldehyde when intended for human ingestion

 
(h) by inserting after item 162 the following:

5-methoxy-a-methyltryptamine (5-MeO-AMT)

 
(i) by inserting after item 272 the following:

1-(3-trifluoromethylphenyl)piperazine (otherwise known as TFMPP)

This order amends Schedule 1 to the Misuse of Drugs Act 2001 by updating and correcting the list of controlled drugs.
