Obstetric and Paediatric Mortality and Morbidity Order 2011

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Council of Obstetric and Paediatric Mortality and Morbidity, make the following order under sections 5(7) and (8) of the Obstetric and Paediatric Mortality and Morbidity Act 1994 .

1.   Short title

This order may be cited as the Obstetric and Paediatric Mortality and Morbidity Order 2011 .

2.   Commencement

This order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.

3.   Principal Act

In this order, the Obstetric and Paediatric Mortality and Morbidity Act 1994 is referred to as the Principal Act.

4.    Section 5 amended (Membership of Council)

Subsection (1) of section 5 of the Principal Act is amended as follows:
(a) by omitting from paragraph (d) "Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists" and substituting "Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists";
(b) by omitting from paragraph (e) "Australian College of Paediatricians nominated by the Tasmanian Branch of that College" and substituting "Paediatrics and Child Health Division of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians nominated by the Tasmanian State Committee of that Division".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the order)

This order amends subsection (1) of section 5 of the Obstetric and Paediatric Mortality and Morbidity Act 1994 , relating to the membership of the Council of Obstetric and Paediatric Mortality and Morbidity, by substituting –
(a) the new name of a body that has had a change of name; and
(b) a new body for a body that has ceased to exist.
