Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Amendment (Identity Matching Services) Regulations 2017
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999 .

These regulations may be cited as the Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Amendment (Identity Matching Services) Regulations 2017 .
These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.
In these regulations, the Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Regulations 2010 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
4. Regulation 125 amended (Security of information in registers)
Regulation 125 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:(a) by inserting the following paragraph after paragraph (d) in subregulation (2) :(da) if and as required for the purposes of identity matching services;(b) by inserting the following definition before the definition of NEVDIS in subregulation (3) :identity matching services means the scheme for the purpose of sharing and matching identity information established in accordance with the Intergovernmental Agreement on Identity Matching Services made by the Commonwealth Government, New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Northern Territory, Australian Capital Territory and Tasmania on 5 October 2017, as in force for the time being;

These regulations amend the Vehicle and Traffic (Driver Licensing and Vehicle Registration) Regulations 2010 to allow the Registrar of Motor Vehicles to divulge information in accordance with the Intergovernmental Agreement on Identity Matching Services.
