Metro Tasmania Fares Order 2016
I make the following order under section 18I of the Metro Tasmania Act 1997 .

This order may be cited as the Metro Tasmania Fares Order 2016 .
This order takes effect on the sixty-first day after the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.
(1) In this order Act means the Metro Tasmania Act 1997 ;first year means the 12-month period commencing on 1 January 2017 (the day on which this order takes effect);full adult fare means the fare that Metro Tasmania charges a full-fare-paying adult passenger for a single trip on a relevant service;Greencard means an electronic card issued by Metro Tasmania that enables its holder to purchase an amount of credit which can be stored on the card and used to pay for travel on relevant services, with the fare being debited from that amount;Metro Tasmania means Metro Tasmania Pty. Ltd., the company limited by shares referred to in section 4 of the Act and referred to generally therein as "the Company";relevant services see section 18A and, more generally, Part 3A of the Act;second year means the 12-month period commencing on 1 January 2018 (the first anniversary of the day on which this order takes effect);third year means the 12-month period commencing on 1 January 2019 (the second anniversary of the day on which this order takes effect);zone means an area of land that is designated as a zone on Plan 10360, 10361 or 10362 in the Central Plan Register, reduced copies of which are respectively set out, by way of illustration only, in Parts 1 , 2 and 3 of Schedule 2 .(2) The Acts Interpretation Act 1931 applies to the interpretation of this order as if this order were regulations.
This order specifies the maximum prices which may be charged by Metro Tasmania in respect of relevant services during the period in which the order is in force (1 January 2017 to midnight on 31 December 2019).
5. Maximum full adult fare for single trip
(1) During the first year, the full adult fare for a relevant service of the kind specified in column 1 of the table in Schedule 1 is not to exceed the amount correspondingly specified in column 2 of that table.(2) During the second year, the full adult fare for a relevant service of the kind specified in column 1 of the table in Schedule 1 is not to exceed the amount correspondingly specified in column 3 of that table.(3) During the third year, the full adult fare for a relevant service of the kind specified in column 1 of the table in Schedule 1 is not to exceed the amount correspondingly specified in column 4 of that table.
Despite clause 5 , if a full-fare-paying adult passenger presents a Greencard as the means of payment for travel on a relevant service, the amount debited from the Greencard is not to exceed, for a single trip, 80% of the amount of the maximum full adult fare for that trip as specified by that clause.[Clause 7 Revoked by No. 9 of 2018, s. 13, Applied:10 Sep 2018]
The legislation specified in Schedule 3 is revoked.
