Financial Sector Reform (Tasmania) (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act 1999
An Act to amend the Corporations (Tasmania) Act 1990 , the Acts Interpretation Act 1931 and certain other Acts consequent on the enactment of the Financial Sector Reform (Tasmania) Act 1999 and for the purposes of statute law revision

Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:
This Act may be cited as the Financial Sector Reform (Tasmania) (Miscellaneous Amendments) Act 1999 .
This Act commences on a day or days to be proclaimed.
3. Consequential amendments to Corporations (Tasmania) Act 1990
The Corporations (Tasmania) Act 1990 is amended as specified in Schedule 1.
4. Consequential amendments to other Acts
The Acts specified in Schedule 2 are amended as specified in that Schedule.
SCHEDULE 1 - Consequential amendments to Corporations (Tasmania) Act 1990Corporations (Tasmania) Act 1990
1. Section 1(2) is amended by omitting paragraph (a) and substituting the following paragraph:(a) to apply certain provisions of the Corporations Act 1989 of the Commonwealth and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act 1989 of the Commonwealth and of regulations under those Acts as laws of Tasmania; and
2. Section 3(1) is amended as follows:(a) by omitting "ASC" twice occurring from paragraph (b) of the definition of applicable provision and substituting "ASIC";(b) by omitting the definitions of ASC Act , ASC Law , ASC Law of Tasmania , ASC Regulations and ASC Regulations of Tasmania and substituting the following definitions:ASIC Act means the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act 1989 of the Commonwealth;ASIC Law has the meaning given by Part 11 ;ASIC Law of Tasmania means the provisions applying by reason of section 58 ;ASIC Regulations has the meaning given by Part 11 ;ASIC Regulations of Tasmania means the provisions applying by reason of section 59 ;(c) by omitting "Commission established by the ASC Act " from the definition of Commission and substituting "and Investments Commission established by the ASIC Act";(d) by omitting "ASC" from the definition of Commonwealth law and substituting "ASIC";(e) by omitting "ASC" twice occurring from paragraph (c) of the definition of corresponding law and substituting "ASIC";(f) by omitting " ASC Law of Tasmania " from paragraph (c) of the definition of national scheme law of this jurisdiction and substituting "ASIC Law of Tasmania".
3. Section 20 is amended by omitting " ASC Law of Tasmania " twice occurring and substituting "ASIC Law of Tasmania".
4. Part 6 is repealed.
5. Section 26(b) is amended as follows:(a) by omitting " ASC Law of Tasmania " and substituting "ASIC Law of Tasmania";(b) by omitting "ASC" second occurring and substituting "ASIC".
6. Section 27(1) is amended by omitting " ASC Law of Tasmania " and substituting "ASIC Law of Tasmania".
