Wildlife Amendment (Open Season) Regulations 2000
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1970 .

These regulations may be cited as the Wildlife Amendment (Open Season) Regulations 2000 .
These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.
In these regulations, the Wildlife Regulations 1999 are referred to as the Principal Regulations.
4. Regulation 3 amended (Interpretation)
Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting subregulation (5) and substituting the following subregulation:(5) The open season for any form of partly protected wildlife specified in Schedule 8 is the relevant period specified in that Schedule.
5. Schedule 8 substituted
Schedule 8 to the Principal Regulations is rescinded and the following Schedule is substituted:SCHEDULE 8 - Open seasons for partly protected wildlife1. Adult male deerThe open season for adult male deer is from 24 February 2001 to 25 March 2001 inclusive.2. Antlerless deerThe open season for antlerless deer is from (a) 10 March 2001 to 25 March 2001 inclusive; and(b) 12 May 2001 to 17 June 2001 inclusive.3. Wild duckThe open season for wild duck in respect of any place in Tasmania, except Lake Crescent and any stream, swamp or marsh adjoining or draining into that lake, is from 3 March 2001 to 3 June 2001 inclusive.4. MuttonbirdThe open season for muttonbird in respect of (a) the period during which the holder of a commercial muttonbird operator's licence or a commercial muttonbird catcher's licence may take juvenile muttonbirds from rookeries specified in the licence, is from 27 March 2001 to 30 April 2001 inclusive; and(b) the period during which the holder of a muttonbird licence may take juvenile muttonbirds from rookeries at Pilot Bay, Hannants Bight, Trumpeter Rock at Cape Sorell, the King Island group, the Hunter Island group and the Furneaux group, other than at Settlement Point, East Kangaroo Island and Big Green Island, is from 8.00 a.m. on 31 March 2001 to 15 April 2001 inclusive.5. WallabyThe open season for wallaby in respect of (a) the municipal areas of Flinders Island and King Island, is 1 January to 31 December in any year; and(b) any other place is from (i) 8 April 2000 to 25 February 2001 inclusive; and(ii) 7 April 2001 to 24 February 2002 inclusive.6. Brown quailThe open season for brown quail in respect of that part of the State north of a line from Swansea through Queenstown to the west coast is from 5 May 2001 to 3 June 2001 inclusive.7. Adult male pheasantThe open season for adult male pheasant in respect of the municipal area of King Island is from 9 June 2001 to 10 June 2001 inclusive.
