State Service (Agencies and Heads of Agencies) Order 2008

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following order under section 12(1) of the State Service Act 2000 .

1.   Short title

This order may be cited as the State Service (Agencies and Heads of Agencies) Order 2008 .

2.   Commencement

This order takes effect on 12 February 2008.

3.   Principal Act

In this order, the State Service Act 2000 is referred to as the Principal Act.

4.    Schedule 1 amended (Agencies)

Part 1 of Schedule 1 to the Principal Act is amended as follows:

(a) by omitting

Department of Economic Development

Secretary

and substituting the following item:

Department of Economic Development and Tourism

Secretary

(b) by inserting after

Department of Education

Secretary

the following item:

Department of Environment, Parks, Heritage and the Arts

Secretary

(c) by omitting the following item:

Department of Tourism, Arts and the Environment

Secretary

This order is administered in the Department of Premier and Cabinet.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the order)

This order amends Schedule 1 to the State Service Act 2000 consequential on the change of names of the Department of Economic Development and the Department of Tourism, Arts and the Environment.
