Hydro-Electric Corporation Regulations 2024
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Hydro-Electric Corporation Act 1995 .

These regulations may be cited as the Hydro-Electric Corporation Regulations 2024 .
These regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette.
In these regulations Act means the Hydro-Electric Corporation Act 1995 .
4. Major power facility installed capacity
For the purposes of the definition of major power facility in section 8(4) of the Act (a) 40 megawatts is the limit fixed by regulation for the new generating plant located at the power station listed as item 23 of Schedule 1 to the Act and commonly known as Tarraleah; and(b) 40 megawatts is the limit fixed by regulation for new generating plant that generates electricity by pumping water from Lake Cethana through a pipe or tunnel to an upper reservoir, in a process also known as pumped hydro energy storage; and(c) 300 megawatts is the limit fixed by regulation for all other forms of new generating plant.
